Due to the impact of Covid-19 on our business, we will be reducing our working hours to the bare minimum until further notice. This will ensure the safety of our staff and other family members.
Work for Southern Style Events in the coming months will only be carried out either at home, or at our current warehouse where there is a maximum of three people (all family) at a time.
Due to the highly contagious nature of Covid-19 we had already implemented the following measures, before the most recent announcement:
- Increased personal hygiene (washing hands more often, not touching face)
- Isolation from public – only leaving the house for work or to get groceries
- Social distancing when in public
- Each carrying antiseptic hand wipes and/or hand sanitiser
As we are a family owned and operated event styling business, we only work as a pair or small team and are not exposed to the wedding guests or in close contact with venue staff during our bump in and bump out activities.
As a result of the announcement made on 24th March 2020, banning weddings with more than 5 people present, we are required to postpone all our bookings until September 2020.
Depending on how long this government ban is in place, we may need to postpone our bookings from September onwards.
We will not be conducting any face-to-face meetings or site visits during this time. We will continue to provide email correspondence, or book meetings over the phone or Skype.
In April, we will begin to move our stock to storage at our owner’s house to prepare for limited cash flow indefinitely. This will act as a safeguard for the future of Southern Style Events, to ensure that we will be prepared to operate at a high volume once the ban has been lifted.
In the event that any of our family become ill as a result of Covid-19, we are all prepared to completely self-isolate in our own homes.
